Tatado Beach

Tatado Beach is made famous by the surfers in the area and so tends to be a little busier with locals and tourists wanting to catch some waves. If that’s why you have come to Shimoda, please be aware that at Tatado short-boards rule but long-boarders are welcome at the left side of the beach in front of the Yamatokan Hotel. Of course all the other beaches in Kisami also get waves and conditions are forever changing. When the waves get too big to swim on typhoon days, we recommend going to more sheltered beaches like Yumigahama , Nabeta Beach, Goiishi, or Sotoura Beach! Luckily we have many many beaches to choose from so there is something for everyone and somewhere new to check out everyday!
