1st juice on cleansing day

Juice Cleanse and Yoga Retreat

Juice cleanse and Yoga retreat

In October 2017 Retreat wabi-sabi hosted it’s very first juice cleanse and yoga retreat. 9 participants joined us for 2 nights / 3 days to detox, relax, and re-fresh the body and mind. If you have never done a detox program it really is a great way to focus on your overall well-being and reset your body.

We provided all kinds of rejuvenating experiences but participants were free to choose their preferred activities. Friday started with “dinner” (a veggie detox soup) and introductions, followed by a quick orientation and some free time. Most people enjoyed a walk on the beach before evening  yoga on the deck with Taeko from taenoyoga.  After that everyone was ready for bed, actually some had already fallen asleep during the last session of nidra yoga and 1 person was even very hard to wake!

The next day everyone met Taeko on the beach at 6:30 for an early morning yoga session, then a bit of free time before we met up again at the cafe for our first juice of the day. Naoka from Bon Juice offered an information session about the cold-pressed juices and what to expect from a full day of juice cleansing. Everyone had their first juice together at the table and then received 5 more 500 ml bottles of various juices. Some tasted better than others. Everyone agreed that the first juice was refreshing and delicious while 2nd juice of the day was the most bitter.  Throughout the day the staff at Retreat wabi-sabi lead various activities like a silent meditative walk down a forest road, and a home-made aloe face mask treatment using aloe vera picked fresh from the garden. However, as participants were feeling the symptoms of the detox they spent most of the day just relaxing. There were enough hammocks for everyone and most were being used for most of the day! The day ended with another yoga session on the deck followed by an even more restful sleep before early morning yoga on the beach. After which there was a buffet breakfast consisting of lots of fresh fruit, oatmeal, quinoa, chia pudding, flax seeds, and a simple miso soup. Participants were encouraged not to eat too much, instead take out the rest to eat later in the day. Everyone looked refreshed, re-energized, and ready to return to their usual life with a healthier and happier outlook.
