I think most foreigners living in Japan would agree that there are not enough breakfast places around. So I am happy to have discovered a great new spot with fluffy omelettes, toast, Italian coffee and freshly squeezed OJ.<\/del>\u00a0 UPDATE:\u00a0 I\u2019m sad to say, Fontaine<\/a> doesn\u2019t have fluffy eggs and toast on the menu anymore. They do have some great sandwiches and pastries though. You can eat in or take out. They also have a bit of an outdoor deck but it\u2019s walled in so doesn\u2019t quite feel fresh and breezy.\u00a0 However, it is less than 15 minutes on a bicycle and all there set meals, and pastries are very reasonable, fresh, and very tasty too!<\/p>

Fontaine<\/a> seems to have extended their hours so they are now open in the evening for dinner. I forgot to take pics last time of our meal. I had a smoked salmon sandwich and my dining partner had a curry and was very impressed with the big chunks of meat. I don\u2019t eat meat, I\u2019m a pescetarian but there wasn\u2019t much fish on the menu either but I still think it\u2019s worth the bicycle ride even for just their pastries. They also have freshly baked bread you can pick up and take back with you to your accommodation or to the beach!<\/p>

Fontaine<\/a> Cafe and Cake shop is just a little south of Kisami on the 136, Izu Peninsula\u2019s main road. It\u2019s easy to get there on a bike from Retreat wabi-sabi. If you\u2019re staying with us and haven\u2019t rented one from us already, come down to the cafe and we\u2019ll get you sorted with some wheels. If there are two of you, we\u2019ve even got tandem bikes now! If you are going by car, Fontaine\u00a0 has plenty of free parking.<\/p>
